Here is a pic of a swepty that a guy I know was scrapping probably 15 minutes after I took this picture. I asked him about it and wanted to know if I could buy a few parts off of it. He's pretty stubborn and not surprisingly, said no. He takes his "scrap business" pretty serioulsy but I told him that if he ever comes across another Swepty to give me a call.
Just sad to see one like that go to be scrapped when so many parts could have been used to fix up another truck. That was probably one of those vehicles that sits for years "not for sale" and ends up in a freakin' scrap yard.
My 68 D100 was on a trailer heading for the scrap yard 4 years ago. I got it for 100.00 and they had the title too. Been driving it for abought 3 years now. The tag on the truck was 17 years out of date. I ran the same drivetrain until I put a 727 auto in it a few months ago. It was funny. when I brought it home. Everone wanted to know what are you going to do with that, I told them I was going to drive it and they all thought Dad has lost his mind now. Well still driving it.

I really tried getting some parts off the truck. The guy just wouldn't budge. He says he will call me if he sees another swepty but I think he would rather have the scrap money in his pocket.
I know a guy that runs a parts yard that has a good 100 old Mopars (among other things) and there are Valiants and 71 Roadrunners and Swepts and old gull hood trucks and they are mostly stacked 2 or 3 high and this guy's prices depend on how much he has drank for the day. I went to get some parts the other day off a car that was at the bottom of the heap and the quarter panel was destroyed and the frame was bent along with the fact the roof was crushed but I couldn't cut a 4 speed floor hump out because he didn't want to ruin the car UNLESS I wanted to pay $200 for it "because those things are getting pretty darn rare.... hick up cough cough"
