Chrysler 5 point star
Just wondering what years that the Chrysler star logo was placed at the bottom of the fenders? This was on the bottom of a fender on my 1967 W-200. Of course, the other side did not have one....It seems to be plastic.

My '65 crew cab has only ONE on the passenger side. Driver side fender doesn't have a hole for it....odd.

I beleive the started in 1964. They were only placed on the passenger side, I have heard the rational is that it wouild be seen from the curb when parked.

I was always told it signified the 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. Truth? Fcition?
Re: Chrysler 5 point star
Very common mistake to put one on the driver's side.

I have seen them all metal on early cars and then they used plastic as yours is shown, but it should have a "Gold" metal top that was probably bonded to the plastic bottom.medic1241 wrote:Just wondering what years that the Chrysler star logo was placed at the bottom of the fenders? I thought it started in 62 (cars).
Definately passenger side only.

I did get it from the passenger side of my red 1967. My blue 1967 did not have it on the passenger side.

That doesn't always mean anything because replacement fenders were never drilled for the Pentastars. I remember my Dad having a whole bunch of them from when he replaced fenders. He never drilled for them.medic1241 wrote:I did get it from the passenger side of my red 1967. My blue 1967 did not have it on the passenger side.

I didn't know that..... It could have very well been a fender from another truck for all I know...
