Cool hotair balloon this AM

Post by legacyABQ »

This is not an uncommon sight in Albuquerque. Before I found my camera, he was directly over my backyard, and very very low, but he had hit the burners and was going straight up when I shot this. It was perfectly quiet and still, almost no wind, so he was floating sideways at maybe 2 miles per hour... Very nice! My kids loved it.

There's my poor old Dodge in the foreground

Cool, every year we go to Prosser and visit family when they have Hot Air Ballon festival. It's very fun to watch. If the wind is correct they dip the baskets in the Yakima River.

Western washington, in the cascades, is one of the most beautiful places in the whole country.. I did some camping on Mt Rainier <sp?> man is it nice over there! They still make that beer named Rainier?

Yep. Remember the ad with the motorcyclist screaming down the road and you can hear as he goes through the gears: Raaaa- Nerrrrrrrrr- Beerrrrrrrrr! Thought that was pretty funny at the time. Mike
