any one know where I can purchase a new high beam switch? I was having trouble getting my low beams to work and had to click the switch back and forth to get them to work. Eventually this trick stopped working and now I have been driving with high beams exclusively as the low beams will not come on. I imagine the switch is faulty. Can these be found at Napa? I have had no luck at advanced or auto zone and cannot locate them online.
thanks!

Re: High beam switch
Can it be taken apart & cleaned? Probably just corrosion on the contacts.
I have one off of a 66 but don't know it's condition inside.

Re: High beam switch
I replaced the one on my '62 with one from a Ramcharger at the local pick-a-part for about $1.

Re: High beam switch
Turns out it is indeed a "dimmer switch" I always thought dimmer meant the knob you turn to "dim" your dash lights, kinda like whats on the headlight switch on the dash. I went to Napa as recommended as the other chain stores looked at me in disbelief when I asked for the part. Head lights work great now and I went ahead and replaced my battery and now my hazards work and my turn signals work with the highbeams on! Success

Re: High beam switch
Yeah there's an entire "lost" generation that thinks this switch was always on the column, TV's always had a remote, telephones were always touchtone & mobile and all food/merchandise originates in Wal-mart.Grodr625 wrote: I went to Napa as recommended as the other chain stores looked at me in disbelief when I asked for the part.
I'd love to find an old crank-handle for a Model T and walk into AutoZone, throw it on the counter & ask for a replacement. Of course they'd look at their little moniter & start rattling off those same 20 questions.
