Re: Pic request - Stock 68 Camper Special
The 1968 Camper Spec's were from the 100 series to the dually axled 300's.
On the out-side they all seem to have the better to see twin long rectanglar mirrows and the trim name on the rear of the front fender.
The power was from the slant six, the 2 bbl 318 or the 2 bbl 383. The transmission was the four spd manual or the Load-Flight 727 ( automatic ). The rear axle ratio was from the 3.23 to the 4.10 .
In the cabin, there was nothing differant from any other truck of the same year or like trim levels ( same dash and etc ).
Under the hood the twin battery boxes was an spotter's guide. the Alternator should have the twin belt design. They never had the stock ho-hum four blade Cooling Fan. Just behind the driver between the cab and the box is an electrical connection of the old style round four plug unit, for the camper's power.
I have asked this same type of question before and seem to get answer's from people who do not have them.

Re: Pic request - Stock 68 Camper Special
i'm looking for stock style trucks so i can get paint scheme ideas for my truck. I like the classic greens & blues. I'm thinking baby blue with white top. I was going to bag my truck but i'm starting to like the 100% stock look except change the wheels. Problem is i haven't seen to many pics of stock long beds or restored long beds. I would like to thank everyone that responded. it does help me out.

Here's my almost stock '68 Camper Special. I love the color in that you don't see many trucks this color, and that it's the same color as dirt...

Here are a few more pictures for you:

If you look closely, he has the blue repeated in the hood indent.

Here's a 68 in baby blue with a white top:
I have more pictures of trucks form other years, that would still give you ideas. Let me know if you want me to post something.

Re: Pic request - Stock 68 Camper Special
I've always wondered what that would look like in real life. I am really leaning towards the light blue and white when I redo the 66. That's one clean truck. Loving the dog dish caps too!demulsion wrote:Here are a few more pictures for you:

Re: Pic request - Stock 68 Camper Special
Thanks alot guys for posting pics. I'm leaning torwards a baby blue with white top and leaving it at that. Problem is a price tag for a nice paint job is $2500-3500, if i'm lucky. Maybe when i get back from a year in Afganistan i'll be able to get it done.
