Godzilla part 1

Post by mopardwh »

Well I finally got my own house and garage and a place to work on my projects, including my 70 Crew longbed. After letting it rust in a field since I bought it in Feb. last year, I've started the disassembly. The floorboards are about how I thought they would be. I'm looking forward to getting the welder and compressor hooked up in my new garage. Now, I just need a whole lot of time and money. :pale

Without thinking about moving the crew, I traded off our only available truck. So I used high tech engineering to push it back 20 feet behind the garage.

*Update*
Well it's been nothing shy of completely hectic for me lately; with a new house, baby, busy job, out of town a lot, Army, etc. Anyway I finally got a couple of hours to spend on it and pulled the gas burner out. My 67 needs a clutch and this one looks pretty good compared to buying one when I don't plan on using this one.

2 1/2 hours to disconnect and pull the motor & trans wasn't bad at all, but wrestling this thing around by myself in the wet yard sucked! Let me just add that having a large enough garage for all your projects is priceless. Too bad I don't!

Doug,
Did it run good? Are you going to put it back in or use another
engine? I've been looking around for a good 318 for my old W100.

Forgot to add.... if the engine you've just pulled is newer than a '68, it'll have a 23 spline clutch disc and a
different clutch pressure plate/throw out bearing than the old 10 spline pre-'69 clutch set up. They don't
"intermingle"....

I have no clue how it ran, I never started it. And no I don't need it I am putting a CTD in. :Thumbsup I believe Hemikuda71 put the motor in and it was suposed to be a really good one. Maybe him, Cowboy, or cudajimmy could add info on it. They are all previous owners.

Beautiful.

And I just realized you are near my old stomping ground. I grew up on Corydon, about 2 hours up river.

And I love/miss Thunder On the Ohio. I have a good friend that works for one of the Unlimited Hydroplane teams.

If you want new:
Go to http://www.hrclutch.com and get the parts. Don't try
to go mechanical in your '67.... it isn't worth it.

I don't want to put you through the trouble. Maybe I can PM
those guys and ask them how it ran. Thanks for the offer
though.... I appreciate it. :Thumbsup
