Re: what screws for mirror Base
Drivers side as you can see has a spot already with threaded holes. Passenger side you will need to locate correct spot, Drill holes and the mirror has usually has a triangle shaped bracket fitted to inside of door with correct nuts welded to it for proper screws. I have a few sample screws , But not handy. I think they are 5/16 course thread with a countersunk head that uses a Star screwdriver (Phillips)
Make sure mirror is in correct spot so you can fully view it. Someone can probably give you correct measurements for location.

All the passenger side mirrors I have pulled from wrecking yards had the triangle plate inside the door but there were no nuts welded to it. Rather, it was simply 1/4" plate with threaded holes. Oval head phillips screws are the correct style. Stainless steel stays pretty.

On the passenger side, if you remove the inner door panel and shine a light up to the top of the door, you can see 3 holes in the inner skin for the location of the mirror. I used a long drill bit to make pilot holes from the inside. They had a triangle shaped reinforcement plate if they came from the factory. ( pretty easy to make one using the mirror base as a template). The screws are 5/16-18. Available at Home Depot in stainless.

I never had a plate.mounting my mirror. Assumed nuts welded to it.
