I have a 1967 dodge d200 and a 1970 d200 both 383 autos, they both show the same info for the rear end on the door post tag, 1967 shows 41-spicer-60 and the 1970 shows 410-spicer-60,
my question is will the drums off the 1970 be the same as the 1967, parts stores show new drums for 1970 but not 1967, hate to tear apart the 70' in the hot sun for nothing.

This may help. My 66 W100 used the same brake shoes as my 71 W200 that I used to own.

I am going to tackle this problem this weekend, I purchased new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware kits, and adjuster kits front and rear
for my 67 d200, front drums are good but the back ones are bad, I have a 70 parts truck that has the same rear end and was wondering if the drums
would fit, I can buy new drums for the 70' but not the 67', ( so there must have been a change in between those years)
I am considering just switching rear ends and then I can just go to the parts store whenever I need.

Take em apart, see if they match. If so, u will know the same parts fit both. Alot easier to check it out than just swapping axles. If swapping, wouldn't u want to do the brakes on the 70 anyway?

yes I would want to do the brakes on the 70, my whole point of switching axles, i am not a mechanic so thought i would ask the question before asking someone to help me tear apart an axle.

Seeing as this thread has been about rear axles. I need the part number for the pinion seal for a Dana 60 in my 1966 W100. The 38 year old seal started leaking some time while sitting since last year . I replaced it already today but am not quite sure its the right one. Bit different looking. If someone knows the correct part number that would help . May just want one on the shelf for a spare.
