FNG

Post by CupcakeMike »

My name is Mike, I am new to the forum, and I am the new owner of Mikeh's 66 d200 that he posted for sale over in the powerwagon section

I couldn't be happier with the great deal we worked out on the truck and its really in as good of shape as he said. Goes down the road @ 75 with no problem, except for its aerodynamics :)

I been walking on air for the last 3 days

I need to do a little body work to the passenger cab corner area and the bottom of doors could use a little attention...plus all the seals are original, it appears, so they will need replacing. Looks to be original paint and its really pretty damn amazing that this thing is nearly 50 years old, with the kind of shape its in.

I plan on doing the work above over the next year and then just driving it...I figure that in 5 or 6 years, when my boy gets to be closer to driving age, we will make it a father/son project of greater extent....

Hey Mike, nice truck to get started with :Thumbsup
fyi, it is a W200, not D200. D=2wd, W=4wd (powerwagon)
Data tag might say D if it was originally 2wd and converted later.

I dug up an old picture of your truck or its twin but with a pie plate grill and different front bumper:

You are right, I was looking at weatherstriping online while I was typing that post and accidently typed d200...its definetly a factory 4x4

I also like the color. its going to be hard to match it when I repaint after the bodywork.

I need the front and rear windshield weatherstriping and the weatherstripping for the doors. Anybody have a source ?

I used Danno Enterprises for weatherstripping but poeple also use Rock Auto and Restoration Specialties (i think that's the name)

Maybe it is 4wd conversion :thinking
The PW emblems are in the wrong spot and the trim was modified. From the factory, trim went to the front of the hood and emblems above it.

It is also an automatic with a factory dash shifter. The automatic wasn't available in a 66 W200.

Your VIN plate will tell you. If the first number of the serial number(VIN) is a 1 then it was a 2wd cab. If it is a 2 then it is a 4wd cab. Then you can look on the frame and see if the number matches the cab.

Great looking PW! I like those wheels on it. What did those come from? I'm looking for some for my 65 D200, not allot of decent 8 lug options

Thanks for the kind words guys

The wheels are eagle 8 hole alloys....pretty sure you can find them at summit , ebay, wherever...they are not exactly a rare wheel, although maybe in this 8 lug fitment? I can't say I have ever really paid attention to fitment when I see them on trucks, but you do see them ALOT

WOW! What a beauty. Love the while steering wheel and the four eyes. The color with the white lid is beautiful.
