dash vent knobs

Im upgrading my interior. I found the cool aluminum machine turned dress up piece that goes on the lower control panel. Do the vent knobs pull or screw off or do I have to take the whole vent cable out?? The cable is being a pain, it would be a lot easier if those knobs just pulled off. There is no set screw. I dont want to ruin it if they arnt ment to pull off. Truck is a 65D100

Vent knobs do not come off. U have to pull the entire cable. (remove nut on the back)
