ok, now im p*#@!!!!!!
got the carrier bearing crossmember out after one hell of a time with the rusted nuts and bolts. a few skinned knuckles and a lot of cussing later its off and in my hand. go over to my truck to bolt it on and get started on the 4spd swap and guess what???? the area needed for the crossmember to bolt in is occupied by my mufflers. not just a little interference that could be shaved off the crossmember, but a full on blockage of any hopes to bolt it in. so now im stuck with a delimma, cut the muffs and tail pipe off, do the swap and be stuck with straight pipes bellowing under my @#% untill i can afford to get the muffs reinstalled and new tail pipes bent. or just scrap the idea till i get more money gathered. i was hoping for the cheap swap, all the parts on the 4spd driveline are fairly new, so i thought it would just be a straight up swap. man was i wrong, just my freaking luck. any body have a large caliber machine gun???????

exhaust issues
heres my two cents. take a longer section of the exhaust, say two feet for example, and cut out a section that is 2 feet plus the muff. turn it end for end and now your muffs are 2feet further toward the rear of the truck and you could start your workings there. that at least takes your muffs away from the coss member.
all mopar all the time

that idea might have worked if i hadnt turned the exhaust out in front of the rear wheels. there wasnt a section of pipe long enough to play with. i wound up cutting the pipe off and haveing a whole new system, flanges and all, fabbed up in 2.5 pipe.
