1968 repair manual

Post by vin »

looking at ebay, it appears there was never really am OEM manual for the 1968, but a supplement to the 67 model. i have a chilton, but as im sure you know it leaves everything you really need out somehow, lol.

i guess im being cheap since apparently there is enough info to fill a supplement but what is really that different from the 67 manual if i order it? I have a 68 w200 crew cab. im surprised that my google skills couldnt come up with any downloads online ;)

I think the only real difference will be electrical and inside doors /trim, Dash layout a bit. Nothing major. :thinking

Concerning wiring: 1968 was the year the Fed required side marker lights on most vehicles. 68 wire have a tad few more wires on the diagrams.

Hmm, mine doesn't have side marker lights, just a reflector that I thought was added by someone at some point.

I ordered the 67 manual. I actually found a wiring diagram online but maybe I'll eventually get the supplement to be safe.

They had reflectors on 68-69 trucks and lights on 70-71 trucks.

Trucks may have lagged behind cars a couple of years.

I have a '67 W200 with a '68 cab along with the '67 FSM and '68 supplement. Differences are very few. The fan switch is different style, key is in a different position and some of the switches are located other places but not much different otherwise that I can think of right now. :pale :Thumbsup The supplement is not very thick but I haven't looked at it in along time so don't remember what is in it. :salut
