i have a 71 d-200 with the 318 my question as i have tried to find out but cant is what octane to use in my truck 87 OR 91

87 should be okay on the 318. If it pings adjust the timing. or try Half 87 and half 91 to provide 89 octane. (Thats how they mix them in the pump) Unless its a high compression or performance engine 87 should be fine.

etanol works great runnin my -70 D100 ( 225, 904 ) on 1/3 etanol....
