What mirrors are these

Do any of you recognise these mirrors? I am sure they would work great with a trailer.

They are Dodge Mirrors. They are the West Coast type. They may be called something else, but they were used for the Camper Specials and stuff like that. NOTE the mounting brackets match the original "post type" mirror.

Some of the bolts are busted and the rods are bent. Are there reprocuction parts for these?

They are WIDE to say the least but I dig them.

No repro stuff for them as far as I know. As for bolts? You can probably get the acorn nuts at Home Depot or someplace like that. They are just "hardware" and nothing special. On the inside of the door there are triangle backing plates that you need to be aware of. They will probably fall to the bottom of the door when you take the bolts off. The FRONT triangle backing plates will stay in place most likely.

Jim, Is there anything special about the mirror? One of the (for lack of a better term) bolts broke during removal. If it is easily replaced I may go that route but if not, I am sure the glass can be replaced and they can be sand blasted and repaited. I guess I could always drill out the stud, put in some correct allthread and weld it back in.

You mean the "Glass" mirror part, or "the head"? I am fairly sure that you can get a replacement head, but I never looked into them. I had a 70 that had these mirrors on it, one was original, and the other was a replacement head. They can be stainless too. OR if you are a 'stickler' for originality, then you can do what you said about using some threaded rod. The originals had a "bubble" on the back such as the one in the picture. I can't really tell about yours.

Someone else may chime in about a replacement head that 'looks' original, but I don't know.

To me those mirror brackets look like universal style.

In Jims68 post the pic he attached look just like the mirrors and brackets on my 70 D100. I sold a set of those brackets a year ago to Joseph Kwapich.

You know... Dodgeboykim, I think you're right. Now that I look CLOSER, I didn't notice the "adjustment" nuts on the brackets before. I was ONLY going by the steel plate that is bolted to the door itself. Hey... I have a cold and don't feel that great... gimme a break!

Different mirrors have been posted before and said they were OEM. To me OEM means perfect fit not universal with 10 different adjustments. Just sayin. :2cents

The mirror housings have a checker or X on the back not the rounded style. All of the rodsor poles have adjustments so it looks like the ones that are now on it are aftermarket. If that is the case, I will buy something that is close and will work. I plan on doing a cummins conversion and want the truck to look period but not 100% correct.

Thanks guys. You saved me a TON of time trying to bring these back from the dead.

Those arms are exactly like the one's on my D500 except it does not have the lower brace.
