front fender

I think I posted my question in the wrong place before. I am trying to remove the front fender on my 69 D100. All of the bolts are out, but there seems to be some kind of fastener at the cowl where it meets the fender. Do I have to remove the door and the hinge pocket??

Up on your kick panel, there is an access hole covered by
a plastic Caplug. Remove the plug and you'll see a 1/2"
head hex bolt. A lot of times, the kept nut will twist out
of its housing.... just so you know.

Same here John. I'd have to say out of all the fenders I've removed, which up to about probably about twenty or so, I'd say only three didn't spin.

Well done!!

Thanks all. No one asked why I had to take the fender off. I ran into something with it. Made me sick. Someone hit my Honda CR-V and it didn't bother me that much, just took it to a body shop and got it fixed. Someone backed into my Dakota, it didn't bother me that much, they tool care of it. But...........................when I bent the fender on my 69 D100, it almost made me sick. My wife thought I was crazy, thought she saw a tear in my eye (she did). It is amazing how you can feel about these sweptlines :pale . Bruce

I gave up and just welded new nuts in mine. If I had thought about it I prob would have put bolts on instead...

I used my newer Dodge to help fix my older Dodge. Hooked a come-a-long to the trailer hitch of my 01 Dakota, and put an eye bolt thru the core support of my swepty and pulled it out. Fender is back on, straightened grille, put in new headlight, bumper is in chrome shop, and just have to pull the dent on the rt end of the hood and refinish the hood and fender. I would post pictures, but it really is a hassle. My system just doesn't match the system you have.
