Hood alignment?

OK, I bought my Sweptline, and the back of the hood is sticking up about 3/4". 1st thing I did was to check, and the hinges are as low as they go. How do you adjust this out?

Here ya go... you will find what you need here. The trick is... putting shims under the
FRONT bolt of the hinge.

I ended up having to shim the bolts. It's still not perfect, but it is within 3/8 of an inch now. To shim anymore, I'll have to get longer bolts.

When you need that many shims... it probably means something is bent or just plain worn out. I believe that the cowl gets weak over the years as well and if it is bowed out, this will mess up the hinge area which falls back onto the hood alignment.
Do your hinges have a LOT of play in them? Could be the pivot points are just worn out.
After you have closed your hood; are you able to PUSH the back of the hood down by hand? IF you can do that, you would need to lubricate the hinge points. Then the hood will/can close better on its own.
You also may want to consider filing out the alignment holes A, B & C a little bit so you can move the hinge down ever further. File the TOP side so the hinge will move DOWN.
