Door Won't Open

I know this one will be hard to answer, but I'll ask away. Among my other issues, the passenger door on my '67 D200 won't open. It did on the 'Test Drive Day', but as soon as I convinced my wife to go for a ride it wouldn't let her in! Good thing she's short and could crawl through.
Well, the outside button will compress and the inside lever will move, but neither do any good. Has anyone else had this? I would like to get it fixed so as just in case the driver's door did the same thing I'd have a way in......or out! Thanks,Scott

A way to get started would be to pull the arm rest,
inside handles & panel off and do a quick inspection.

Well... you'll have to dig a bit deeper my friend.
Have you tried pulling the inside latch handle
[while sitting on the passenger side] and "putting
some shoulder" to the door to see if it'll pop open
for you? Suffice it to say that you'll have to
find a way to get the door open for a more in depth
inspection of the latch on the cab. Maybe someone
else can point you in another direction? I can't
think of a way other than popping off that inner
door panel and finding out what part of the system
is letting you down.... :salut

I like Johns suggestion. :goodpost Another thing you might try is lifting on the door while opening it from the outside.

not to sound like a smart @#%, but is it locked?? it may have been locked, and isnt quite all the way unlocked.

What John and Trey said. I would first make sure it is all the way unlocked. Then with the inner door panel removed reach in and feel each part move to the next connecting part. If that part moves continue the search until you find what is not moving.
On the other hand if it is freezing and raining the water runs into the weather stripping and my doors freeze shut. Just one more thing to fix.

I think I've pushed, jiggled, and moved everything that can be and that goes for the lock button, but I will try that again tonight. Maybe the lock jammed. I can't remember, but can you open the door from the inside while the lock button is down? You know, the lever bypassing the lock button as it does in some cars?

It's werd, but my door on my 67 stuck one day and my son was driving and I was the passenger. I had my son push in the button and lift up on the door from the out side and I kicked the door from the inside and it opened. Then I got out the WD-40 and oiled everything in site and it never happened again.
johns67-well it worked!!!

I'll have to give that a try tonight!

The inside door handle will unlock it if it's locked, or should anyway. WD40 would be what I'd try. Spray it good and then do as already suggested, lift up and pull from the outside. Might help to have someone inside too to push. The bad news is, if the lock mechanism needs to be replaced you have to remove the upper door frame.

Tried the lifting up technique. No luck. I'll have to wrangle some help.....
