Front and Rear glass/weatherstripping.

Post by Boons »

Has anyone reused their gasket/locking strip for putting new windsheild and rear glass in?
The ones in my 71 are in great shape and came out no problem (Well the windsheild locking strip came out in two peices). Actually all the weatherstripping is accounted for and in good shape. Couple loose spots on the doors, whats the best adhesive to use?
Any tips/tricks?

I've had great results with 3M weatherstrip adhesive.
I use the black colored stuff,so that when it oozes out it's not so obvious.

Is the locking strip a generic thing.Just buy a length and measure/cut?
Also I found another company that makes rubber for our trucks, prices not that bad

Take a chunk to your favorite auto glass installer.I'm sure they will have some on hand.
I do believe there is different diameters of it.

Try Danno Enterprises in Florida, I think he will sell
the locking strip separately.
