Historicaly Signifigant?

Just came across 68 W200. the owner states that it was an old los Angeles sheriff truck. originally 383 truck it now has a 440 that was installed at the factory, then presented to a retiring deputy. he showed me a brass plate that was mounted on the dash "Made Especially for ( deputy's name)". has a letter from Chrysler stating the same plus the fact the 440 was installed by them. all vin numbers on the brass plate and the letters match the truck. it is a long bed utiline. it has the pto winch plus spare carrier on the bedside. I don't remember the entire vin but it starts with 228181XXXX. anyone have any knowledge of this truck?

Well.... The serial number starts out correct anyhow... Sounds interesting.

is the 440 a passenger car engine, or HP version??

I don't know if it is a hipo engine, I will have to get back over and get some more info on this truck. wont be till next week as I will be heading out of town later this week. I will try to get some pictures. I was hoping someone on here had some knowledge of this truck.
