Changed 68D100 to 71D100 stepside
Changed the 68D100 for a 71 D100 Stepside. Love the stepside and had to have another dodge truck after having the 68. They are a unique beast with awesome fat looks. The 71 has a nice fresh 318 that has less than 2000 miles on the rebuild, 727 with B&M slap shifter, painless wiring harness (painless is obviously a play on words) that is real fun to finish with drawings (not). It has a 3.23 rear end which is better for the freeway. The 68 had a 3.91 which revved way to high on the freeway. The 71 has power brakes but unfortunately drums all the way around so yeah SPECIAL breaking at any speed over 30. I really need to do the disk brake conversion and would love power steering. I want to finish the truck over the next few months and take it back to Australia as they are very rare there and would educate Aussies on the awesome trucks they are. If there are any new updates on disk brake conversions and power steering I would really appreciate any info. Here are the first photos of the baby as I got it and its new progress. I will probably stick with the Matt Black look because it just looks super tough and is practical for a daily driver which the truck will be. Sorry cant give the before pics cause the files are too big. Looking forward to getting this baby sweet

Nice! Your truck is called a Utiline. Stepside is a term used by another
brand of trucks. If you can hoist a 26oz can of Foster's Lager to your
mouth, you're strong enough to easily deal with the manual steering on
a D100.
The disc brake conversion would be nice for sure!
I'm putting together a '68 D100 short box Utiline and am using a '69
cab, '70 hood and '70/'71 grille. It is a "twin" to your truck. Have fun
with it.

Hehe thanks for the reply John. Yeah I can hoist the Fosters no problemo and the disk brake conversion is the big target
Glad you told me about the Uteline. I will use correct Mopar language now and maybe people will understand me better minus the Aussie accent
Cheers Rob

I have updated the old girl now and changed the wheels. Had the 727 completely rebuilt. Getting the exhaust completed this week with 2.5in all the way out the back. No more fumes in the cab. Finished the dash and added a stereo. Now just need to do the disk brake conversion, get the bottom of the seat reupholstered, drivers floor pan replaced and right side rocker panel.
Thinking about the colour. Dont know whether rat rod black or hugger orange with black stripes. Open to oppinions

Well the old girl has had more updates. I know the purists wont like it but I do. Its pure mad Mopar and a hell of a lot of fun. Added Exhaust, tranny complete rebuild with B&M Shift kit, Stereo, new steering wheel, Ali door panels, guages, console, new floor pans, new tires and a whole lota love

I like the all black treatment. I think your steering wheel is upside down.
