DOOR KNOBS

Post by IROD1971 »

Hey I went to an antique shop the other day and scored a bunch of door knobs. I am going to use them as shift knobs and broodie knobs once I work on them a bit.
got six all together at the store, they will look nice on a shifter or a broodie knob on a steering wheel someday

Awesome!

Shift knob is easy, all you do is make it from course to fine thread (or vice versa) :Thumbsup

Thanks!

I just decided to mess around one day. I thought id need to get fancy and insert the threaded piece from an actual shift knob. After hitting an old one with a hammer, and the piece hitting my knee at approximately 90 mph; I found that the door knob basically threaded onto the shaft. So i used a tap and changed the threads and never looked back!!

There are smaller glass door knobs for french doors that would probably be perfect size for a 3!
