Wiper Search

I would like to see a picture of some original wipers, arms mainly. It's a long aggravating story but, mine were replaced a few years ago when my Grandmother thought she could still drive the truck. The passenger side wiper arm was missing a spring, so she took the truck to the guy that used to work on her things at the time and told him to fix it and he goes and replaces the entire wipers on both sides with some crappy generic stuff and, now my quest for original wipers continues. I went to a junk yard today and sloshed through ankle deep water in a field of old cars and trucks to try and find suitable replacements. I found a few Sweptlines but they either had what looked to be non-factory wipers or didn't have any wipers at all. I saw a few Dodge and Plymouth cars from the 60's and even a D500, some wipers had bolts without the end caps, and others had end caps which really confused me because I thought our trucks' wipers had the end caps. I gave up the search and thought that I would research exactly what the wiper arms looked like before I bought anything. So.... anyway that is the story. could someone please post a pic of some original wipers and tell me the length of the arm and whether the arms have an exposed bolt or an endcap where they fasten to the mechanism.

i looked for some wiper arms in a few junk yards. either they were broke or missing. i'm sure somebody will come up with some. i bought a set from o'reilly's auto parts. i have not had a problem with them. they have a adapter piece that fits on the wiper motor arm. i had about 30.00 in them.

car quest sells a real nice "generic" set i have used many many times. they come with the new arm and heads. best part of the car quest items, they are stainless steel, look correct but are much more adjustable, and use a readily available wiper blade. i wouldnt use stokers if i didnt have to, the refills are almost impossible to find any more and the replacement heads never fit right. do a search, i posted the part numbers on here a while back.

Can you tell me if the original wipers have an exposed chrome bolt where they mount to the wiper mechanism, or is there a cap like modern wiper arms have? I may have found some wipers from a '70-'71 truck, (may score a 3 hole post with round mirror as well from the truck also).

My truck has good wipers on there now, but they are anco replacement arms and blades and the arms have a small round dial thing to set the angle that you need. I want something closer to original, stainless would be good also.

Yes there is a bolt sticking out of the wiper arm. That screws into the wiper pivot (transmission).
