Seeing double.
Seeing double.
There are numbers on dash panel and on the glass. I have not taken it apart yet to see what has been done before I owned it. Can anyone explain this. Where should the numbers be, on the dash or on the glass?

Re: Seeing double.
That is a new one!
I have 4 or 5 70-71 gauge sets and they all have the hash marks on the gauge faces,
the numbers and letters are on the glass.
From the looks of it you have a normal glass, but your speedometer is an odd ball.

Re: Seeing double.
62-68 spedometers have a clear glass lense.69-71speedos have printed plastic lenses. You have a speedo from a 62-68 truck behind your 69-71 lense... better than nothing.

Re: Seeing double.
So, what would one do in this situation?
Would you maybe pull the glass out and try to scrub the numbers off leaving the one set of numbers on the gauge?
Or.... for purists' sake, leave it the way it is?

Thanks for asking, that's what I was wondering. What do I do about it?
