CHIPS
Not sure what year, looked to be maybe 65or 66 D-200
that was used in a stunt on a real earty episode of CHIPS. the truck was full of old tires and iT gets airborne then lands on top of another car during a lame car chase.

I was flipping through the channels last night, and I saw an 80's dodge truck on there. So I watched for a bit and I the movie that was on was "Homeward Bound" The one about the dogs + cat that get lost and go home.
Anyways, while admiring how clean the 198* truck was, I saw a familiar piece of side trim on a truck in the background. It was the wide 3" trim found on 65 to 68 trucks. As the camera took a differnt angle, I saw it was a '68 crew! Man it was sweet. All white with black trim. White grill and bumpers, looked real clean. It was awesome!
Funny how a person can get so excited just by seeing a dang truck on TV. I lead a sad life.

My favorite movies all have sweptlines in them- the top being the Crew Cab chase scene on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- Nothin' like a pre-65 Crew Cab chasing a Taurus Wagon, lol... Another would be a movie called "Fire in the Sky"- a D200 crew cab was the main feature- hauling @#% down a mountain in the pitch black full of crazed loggers who'd seen an alien space craft. I don't recall the name of the other movie- oh, oh, yes I do!! Dear God- I'm 21 and already rejoicing my memory!!! It was a film titled "Flush"- pretty much a rip off of it's a mad mad mad mad world, but, the star of a movie is a '65 or '66 D-series septic tank pump truck (I think its a 500 or 700...) properly dubbed "the honey truck." We rented the movie when I was 10 years old , just because the cover depicted the honey truck doing something outlandish. Anyways, you guys should add these on to your "to rent" list. I think I'm going to look into buying flush, now that I remember the name....
Does it appear to anyone else that the D100 in the sandlot 2, catch and release, and brotherhood of murder? they all have that funky headache rack in them... Oh- and one other movie just popped into my head- in the original "Love Bug" movie, the dealership that sells Herbie and tries to steal him back has a '68 or '69 D300 wrecker (sorry- don't remember the hood...)..

Gun Crazy, with Drew Barymore has a real beat up 62-64 in it, That crew cab in Fire in the Sky got me into these trucks, especially when I saw an old USAF crew cab towing a race car, not long after while on my usual mopar parts scrounging tours.

67 D100 318 4spd converted to RHD, 68 grille 69 dash and hood, needs some body work and paint.

Old Dodges in the Movies
I happened to catch Metro (Eddie Murphy) on cable the other day. He was driving an early 60's Dodge truck supposedly taken from the police impound lot.
