I also have a 71 Power Wagon and a 70 Challenger R/T.

As well as the others, I am interested in seeing more pictures of your steering set up and exactly what you used to make it work. I spend a lot of time wheeling with my Jeep and quite a few of the guys I run with use AGR steering systems on thier Toyota's. I've never seen this system used on an early Dodge and my truck is in need of power steering.
I will take some more detailed pictures I am not much of a photographer as you can see . I own and run a suspension and alignment shop with my wife and am just learning how to upload and down load pics ( didnt even care what that meant not long ago ) I am glad there are so many gear heads out there like me , that like real trucks . What do you have in the R/T ? I will be glad to give you a detailed list of parts I used that worked . Its been trail tested for over 2 years now and only replaced one heim joint at ram , only because the one supplied was a cheapy .
Thanks for the extra info.

My Challenger currently has a roller cammed small block, the factory pistol gripped 4-speed, and 3:55 sure grip. It's an original 383 car and has had all kinds of motor combo's, including a 452 ci big block, over the years. I've owned the car since I was 19 years old (now 37). When I redid the car, I went with a small block and all modern suspension so it would drive and handle like a modern car, which it does quite well. I have way too many other projects right now, but I'd like to add a 5-speed, fuel injection, and an XV Motorsports suspension.

Sorry for the crappy picture. :pale

Thats a perfect challenger , I love it !!! Its stands out like they should and sounds like it probably hauls @#% too . I had a 73 challenger w/ a built 318 and it handled much better than my freinds hemi challenger , except when we were going straight he got me easily .

Wow, that truck really does look a lot like mine! I used to drive my rig around your area all the time before I moved. I used to live in Paso Robles, My truck quit running in about 2000 though and I just got it going again.

I also have a 71, but mine is a two wheel drive with power steering.
Did you rebuild the PS unit? and if so where do you buy the kit?

I just took it apart and put new seals in it , we have a bearing supply outlet in next town and they carry seals . You should be able to match yours up . And the ram is aftermarket AGR unit , the stock one I had was pretty beat up and I wanted heim jounts anyway . Andy

Thanks for the info.
I have a little bit of play in my steering wheel, and have adjusted the steering box. I thought the play might be in the control unit, maybe tired springs or something.
Thanks again

Have someone get in and turn steering wheel back and forth slowly with it running , and you look at all your tie rods for any movement . The drag link off steering box is a weak link where greasable tie rod joint is . A little bit of slop in any of those joint makes it feel sloppy .

I forgot to tell you to unplug your horn first cause more than likely they will honk the horn while your head is in the fender well .

My truck is tucked away til spring.
Good tip on the horn, I can just see my son's face when it won't beep.
My bald spot will miss another scrape or bump.
