Jump ahead to 2021 and the used 440 is tired, leaking and burning oil and coolant. Time for a transplant.
I was given a 426 industrial a few years ago for free so why not?
Bought a complete rebuild kit from Clegg which included flat top pistons, cam, lifters, timing chain, bearings and all the gaskets. New rods from a supplier that I will never buy from again (the rods are great, other items are chinese garbage) a Pertronics distributor, electric dual fans, rebuilt 435, rebuilt 205, rebuilt Dana 44 front with powertrac, rebuilt Dana 60 rear with powertrac, new exhaust , and new driveshafts are on the way. WOW!!!
Also had the seat recovered and installed a rubber floormat. Ive never had a floormat, its amazing how quiet the truck is now.

Found a dash that had never been cut or drilled, which has a dashpad with one very small crack. And a headliner.
Still need to have some bungs welded on the exhaust to meter the A/F ratio for carb tuning but overall, running very nice and strong.
Dont toss those industrial engines, they have great potential.
