Reminds me of my dad's '69 Dodge Monaco. I love that car. I have never ridden in a smoother riding car! Plus the HP440 in it is nice to have. His is gold as well. Was purchased by his grandfather to give to his grandmother for their 50th wedding anniversary. Actually it was my mom who inherited it.

Re: PLYMOUTHSAURUS REX
When growing up I had the pleasure to ride in a 69 Polara, with a female friend of my sisters, we were playing cat & Mouse with another car, I got alot of respect to how fast, and how much power the 383 had, she had problems getting it to hook, she literally smoked the tires for a full block, it was a 2 door also. I saw a few of them in San Antonio, while I lived their, that drew my attention, all black with baby moons sittin low, it looked "EVIL", I even saw a S-23 package one for sale, I was trying to pull money from everywhere to buy that car, it didn't happen, I love the Fury's and Polara's, theirs alot of open space inbetween the metal, decieving weight I suspect.

Re: PLYMOUTHSAURUS REX
When I was just out of high school, my brothers and I commuted daily 100 miles round trip to Grand Junction, CO in a Fury identical in nearly every way to yours, except it had the gold gator grain top on it. Same colors, otherwise. We'd do 90 - 100 mph with zero effort and worry. It helped that my sister was the dispatcher for the county LE and we'd know where the cops were going to be on any given morning! With a 383 2-bbl auto, factory AM/FM, air, same wheelcovers...that car drove like a dream! And even at high speeds, the car pulled 16 mpg. At 65, it would improve to closer to 19-20. Loved that car.

Re: PLYMOUTHSAURUS REX
Awesome! One of my favorite vehicles! I own 2 69 Fury III verts.
I have had the first one for over 22 yrs.
It used to look a lot like that.

I have changed a few things over the years. (almost everything!)

They are much quicker and nicer vehicles than they get credit for. They had the same drive lines available to them
as the B & E bodies, and are typically only a few hundred pounds heavier than their B Brothers. I like to point out
to guys that it was these C bodies that were chasing down and ticketing the B & E's back in the day.
In 69 Chrysler sold almost as many Fury's as all other Plymouths combined! It was definitely one of the profitable models.

Re: PLYMOUTHSAURUS REX
yes the c body is a smoother quieter ride than the dart, dusters ,cudas and b- bodies that i love , but the best thing is they haven't been pounded on as much. the fury is truely the top of the line in 69 for plymouth brand.

Re: PLYMOUTHSAURUS REX
While we are discussing 1969 C bodies, I believe that the 147 mph top speed recorded at Chelsea Proving grounds in a 1969 Dodge Polara Police Package (440) still stands as the fastest top speed in a 4 door sedan cop car.
