Post by PowerMan »

Saw quite a few Sweptlines and other misc. Dodge trucks on our summer trip up in Montana and Idaho. Went through 20 or so wrecking yards in search for parts. Here's some pics:

what seems to be the problem up north? Dont you folks believe in the concept of road salt in the wintertime? These trucks should have been recycled by now.

joking, man i wish i came across material that clean around here. not much older than mid eighties in salvage yards, usually early 90's . looks like time has kinda stood still up there. Gotta love it.

Hey... while you were in Cody WY, did you go to the Rodeo? Did you see the Buffalo Bill Museum? BOTH great stuff. We did it a few years ago.

Also... on another note... in the first picture, that is a pretty cool looking Chevy Suburban for a resto too!! (don't hate me for saying that, cuz it is kinda cool!)

Jim,
My Dad and I went through the Buffalo Bill museum. The gun part of the museum was amazing. We went 9 years ago but I was too young to understand it all then. Here's some more pictures:

"Top Hand" Dodge Truck bed. I'd never seen or heard of this before.

1969 D200 Crew Cab

Image
A couple of Town Wagons. The doors on the orange one were very nice so we got them. We had been seacrching for a while for some good doors for our Town panel restoration. The owner of the yard said the old Dodge will be crushed next May. :pale

1969 W200

Image
1968 D100

Image
1957 D100 (rare with those beds) The bed sides were quarter panels from mid 50's Chrysler Imperials (I think :study )

Image
Flat Fender Power Wagon; not sure what year

Image
Mid 50's Dodge Route Van; I'd never seen one like it before; interesting delivery van

1963-64 D100 short wide bed

Sweptlines (The light blue truck had a sweet light duty rear bumper we got a few years ago and the other had nice chrome grill)
1962 W100 - Dana 60s, NV4500- LU2 winch, PS, PB
1965 W200 CC 12 Valve P-Pump, HE351/S475, 5x12s, pushrods, 60# springs, 55 DVs, 18*,O-ringed

Some of the pics are from north Helena and some from another yard in East Helena. If you need parts at the place in north Helena; go there before next May. That's when the owner said the old Dodge stuff was getting crushed.

That '57 Sweptline truck is a rare bird! The bed side panels are off a '56 two-door Dodge wagon, and use the same trim and tail lights, all from the factory!

That 57 out of all the trucks shown is the one I would buy!! "IF" I had the opportunity.
