Here are some quick shots of my ride. 64 D200, 318 Poly, NP435, etc.
This one has the factory Frame Re-enforcement, being welded steel to the frame rails. (not sure why they did that)
I am in process of applying Chassis Saver to the rust. Trying to build a Rat under $3K. I just ordered coil over shocks and once I get them on I will be taking the some leaf packs out to drop her down.
Anyone near San Diego have some good doors to sell me? Mine are rusted through.
Anyone see the Cherry Bomb D100 on GEARZ? That is a cool truck!
Thanks!
P.S. This site rocks! Thanks for all the info, how-to's etc. It REALLY helps!

Re: My Ride
Hello There
I like the truck, but I do not care for you plans of ruining what others
look very hard for.
But it is now your truck.
Even though I have a Colo Spgs address now, I grew up in Poway.

Thanks Rodger.
When you say "ruining what others work hard to find".
In your opinion Is this a rare truck?

Looks like you have a nice clean D200 there.Ranchols wrote:Thanks Rodger.

The hood appears to be from a '68 truck. You have
plenty to work with. As far as rarity.... I guess you
could say that all remaining Sweptlines, in their own
way, are rare. I personally don't think that removing
a leaf or two and putting coil-over shocks is too
drastic an alteration. Rodger has more "purist blood"
in him than I do

stance. Throw the shocks on before removing the
leafs and see how you like it first. You can't beat a
good D200 for hauling stuff. Welcome to the site.

Re: My Ride
welcome...
we too have a d200. 1966. though it rolled off the floor in october 1965.
we hope to do a major renovation on it soon.
the guy who is going to spray it wants to drop it
with some air bags....as he is also "certified"
with one of the manufacturers.
i explained to him that we like the way the d200 sits and rides.
to me that says "truck"....so in that sense....i see the d200 as rare.
and these are rare...perhaps i'm a purist too.
in fact, after we bought this d200, i saw a farm truck d100 with a 383...,
and i kicked myself...but soon realized the uniqueness of the d200.
yet, if i wanted a low rider...i'd get a d100 and drop it to the ground!
yesterday, i saw a tricked out early 70s chevy in our neighborhood....and i thought...
if he only knew what he's missing. probably doesn't even know about sweptines!
enjoy the site...there is so much info these good folks have around here.

Here is my ride...It took 12-15 spray cans from Kragen's Auto Parts. 1970 Dodge D-200 Camper Special 383-727A 4x2
Re: My Ride
Looks good!! Did you do the inside of the bed? I am in the process of preparing mine for the same. I am sticking with the Seafoam Green, white grill, and maybe a white cab. I picked up the "hammered look" spary paint for the wheels, doing dark grey for the wheel and black on the hubs.Oneadm1210 wrote:Here is my ride...It took 12-15 spray cans from Kragen's Auto Parts. 1970 Dodge D-200 Camper Special 383-727A 4x2

Re: My Ride
No I didn't paint the inside of the bed because I knew I was going to haul some rocks down the road and I didn't want to waste my time painting it. What I also did was taped around the "DODGE" letter on the tailgate and used the SUV/Truck bright white and sprayed that and looks nice, but I don't have any pictures yet. I had to take the hood off to acid dip it because I previous owner's friend used oil-based paint on the hood and drew a big sun in yellow and outlined in red. It was ridiculous to take off. I used paint stripping, acid and sanding it and it still didn't come off. So I used Rustoleum auto primer and covered it. Over the weekend I had to do a second coat on the hood bcause of the UV rays were wearing off the paint. I have to get more pictures up to so my progress. I sent the wheels out to powder coating through my work. I went with flat-black it looks nice with the tires.
