VW finally on the road!

Post by slick »

After a few mishaps the Fastback is finally on the road. I still need to order some chrome strips and some minor things here and there, but it's finally driveable. :Thumbsup

Sweet lookin' car! What motor does it have in it? I had a '67 Beetle for a little while. They sure are fun. Aircooled rocks!

That is the same kind of VW I had when I turned 16. Great car, too...til the engine blew apart at 70 mph! The oil light blinked ONCE and the engine let go in a pretty spectacular fashion - blew the case apart at the center! It was white with a red interior, had a Blaupunkt AM/FM/SW radio, and ran fantastic. For a few months, anyway!

Engine is a 1776. Whitewalls are portawalls..I did the paint myself in my carport. Not the greatest job. You can see some paint streaks in it and there is some overspray in some areas, but oh well I will live with it :Thumbsup

Yup German plate. It's a little beat up because it use to be on my bug and it would drag the ground alot :Thumbsup Throwing the fasty on the market to see what happens. Once again I have to much stuff and want to free up cash for other projects :thinking
