How do you check to see if the gauges work or not. Mine is a '67. Thanks!

You can check the gauges with a volt ohm meter. The temperature and oil gauge should read around 20.5 ohms right on the terminals with the wires removed . The fuel gauge should read the same between the 5 volt terminal and the sender terminal.
You should also check for power at the gauges with the key on. With one lead of the meter to ground, you should find 12 volts going to the fuel gauge on one terminal, 5 volts on the other terminal. Not sure what terminal "S" will read, maybe 5 volts as well.
If you have proper ohms and voltage, the sending units might be bad. The temp sender should be around 175-200 ohms cold, 90 ohms or less warm.
