Dash lights

Post by plydus340 »

I put the 383 in my truck. Started having charging problems. I had put a mopar performance electronic ign. in, and a dual plug alt.. Turns out I had a hot wire grounding out on the motor. While I was driving it I noticed the dash lights quit working. The charging problem was the voltage reg.. Charging fine now. Dash lights don't work. Dad said "if the dash lights don't work, the tail lights don't work". Well, the tail lights are working, but no dash lights. Any ideas? Come on gurus, I know you know this one. :study

drop the fuse box and check the connections behind the fuse. if you shorted a wire, id bet you burned one of the spade lugs.

This may be too simple, but have you turned the headlight switch knob back and forth a few times to clean the contacts on the dash light reostat?
