wiper switch

Post by 2bluesweptlines »

the wipers don't work in my '67 D200. i haven't looked at anything yet really, but am guess it is the switch. are these readily available or is probably a matter of cleaning the terminals?

Frist thing to check is the 'braker' on the
power feed, wire from the key hooks to it
and the braker is on the power feed bar on
the wiper switch....
pull the switch out for the above if you
want, also check the back of the switch housing,
if signs of melting are there the switch is bad
because of a internal short.
Something else, sometimes the motor
is slow to get going if not been used for
sometime, give it a hand little help with
switch on.
I assume it does not make noise when you
turn it on?
New switches are not around, if you need
to replace ether the motor or switch be
sure there a match since there are
2 types (i.e. single speed and mulitable
speed types- the single speed has 2 wires
to the motor from switch, 4 wires for the
other).
