Column wiring plug wire removal
I recently purchased a NOS column wiring harness for my 70 W200. It came with everything except a new plug on the end. The old plug isn't in bad shape but I can't figure out how to get the barbed pins out of the block without damaging the plastic. Any ideas?

You "MAY" Need a pin tool. Not knowing exactly what your plug looks like, but... that may be what you need. I only found out about these not long ago. See my old post here:

That tool should work. Just make sure you have the wire colors written down or photos. I'm sure you already thought of that anyway.

The tool did work...finally. Just took some finesse. Then, just as I was falling asleep last night, I realized that in my rush to make some progress by installing the wires into the old plug, I shot myself in the foot. I totally forgot that the wires have to feed into the column collar before the plug can be installed. Oh, well, at least I know how to get the out now. Geeez.
