Hello fellow Mopar fans. I am a brand new member, and really excited to be one. I just discovered this website and am thrilled that there are so many other people who enjoy these old trucks like I do. I picked up a '68 utiline (thats needs work) a few weeks ago. Before putting a single mile on the truck I already have the front axel off and soon to be on the way to sid's and have scarebird brackets in the mail. I wouldn't have known about sid's axels or the scarebird kit if it wern't for this site.
Anways, my question is about A100 hubs. I spoke with a scarebird rep. and he wasn't helpful at all. He asked me to send any technical questions in by email, and when I asked about the required machining that needs to be done to the hubs the response i got back was "i don't know." I went ahead and purchased the brackets anyway and the instructions say "no machine work needed for A100 hubs." I believe these are what I have because they were not pressed into the drums like the pictures shown. Does anyone out there know about A100 hubs? Or have you done a scarbird conversion on a '68 d100? Any help would be appreciated.
scarebird disc brakes, A100 hubs?
Re: scarebird disc brakes, A100 hubs?
....I realise the instructions are saying hubs from an A100 truck, by the way. Just not sure how they differ or what to look for, minus longer studs which I belive I have.
