Anybody know where I might buy a set of NEW leaf springs for the front of a 68 D100 2WD? Wanting to drop the front end down a few inches. Thanks!

St Louis Spring, Eaton Detroit Spring, there's a shop in Memphis that makes springs...

A lot of our trucks were used long enough and hard enough that the springs are, for lack of a better term, dead. I added 2000# overloads to mine and it is still a taildragger, and it has camper special springs to start with.

Order a set for a 69-71, they'll have slider buttons in them, much smoother riding than the earlier packs. Or get spring liner from Speedway, everything will be smoother and quieter if the leaves can't friction bind against each other.

You can always mess with your stock packs (remove /flip leafs ) to get it down a bit or any competent spring shop should be able to make or dearch your existing ones

New springs are not going to drop your truck but probably raise it a bit. Like mentioned, removing springs is a good option or others have mentioned switching to 4wd springs will lower the truck. :Thumbsup

How much lower are you wanting to go?

I would guess he was thinking of a new aftermarket dropped spring

I pulled a few from mine on both ends. 2 in the back and 3 in the front. Its ok I guess, but if I hit a nasty pot hole or something I hit the bump stops.

Damn Kreater, I didn't think pulling springs would get it THAT low. :Thumbsup Looks badass.
I may pull 2 from the front on mine since the P.O. pulled 2 from the back and it has a weird stance, lower in back, super jacked up in the front.

Haha, thanks.

Yeah, it would be good to even it out a bit for when you're driving at night so the headlights align up right on the street.

Mine would bottom out hard on the frame after I pulled some leafs so I added a set of air shocks and it rides like a dream now
