Steering linkage for power steering

Hey all. I've had my 68 W200 for a couple of years now and am now wanting to attempt power steering. I plan on using a box off an 89 w100. Seems simple to mount the box to the frame on the 68 (gonna mount in the same location as on the 89) but having trouble visualizing the steering shaft from the column to the box. Anyone out there have any pictures of this? Or recommendations for modifications. (using the stock steering column to a pwr box on the outside of the frame)

I've been watching Power Steering threads myself, before discovering that my recent purchase has the factory option. Here's a couple threads, use the search feature for more;

Cool, thanks those helped me some. I'm gonna keep searching for pics. If anyone has done this conversion, pics would be greatly appreciated.

Here's one that was off a 70's van. Seemed to work. I can get more pics if you need them. Mike

Thanks for the pics, this helps me visualize a steering shaft setup.

Wonder if the shock is causing a problem with this setup on the van? The shock is missing.

What other information do you have on this Van setup?

Sorry. The steering is off a van. It is installed on a Sweptline. The shock is on the inside as usual. I should have been more clear. Maybe a couple more pics. I'll try that this evening and try to get them posted tomorrow. Mike

Hmmm. Maybe we've already removed the shock! I'll check and get more info. The system seems pretty simple. Mike

i'm interested in this one. the box does look like it sits a little close to the pump, and the shock absorber may present issue as well but it is an interesting idea.

if you zoom in on the area in question in the above pic you might find there is enough room for the shock. i'm not sure but in my pic it looks like the shock may be out of the way.

never mind the chevy air filter - its long gone. a temp measure till i could source a mopar 4bbl filter.

Okay, I took some more pics. I had forgotten we put a straight axle under the truck so we could move it around. It is a W100 so we had removed the shock. I'm not sure what van the box came from but according to the PO it was a 70's van.
We are changing the crew cab back to a regular column (with white wheel!) instead of the GM tilt column. Any more questions just holler and I'll see what I can do. Mike
