hey everyone, I think its time to put some money into my suspension now that I have a motor trans and fresh drum brakes, to my knowledge every susupension component is original kinda scary to think I dragged this truck and ran a 15.0 with no new components. so what do you guys recommend brand and things like that. im looking to keep it stock height just want to freshen up the suspension. shocks, tie rods, king pins, center link. maybe sway bars. im starting to notice a lot of horizontal drifting after I take turns any ideas?

King pins, tie rod ends and a drag link can all be had brand new.
Bud Thorp can rebuild your steering box for you. As for spring eye
bushings, I've heard a couple of different outfits mentioned on the board
[Energy Suspension?]. All this should give you a nice ride with tight and
sensitive steering.... well.... as much as you can get out of this type of
manual steering set up anyhow....

I rebuilt the front end on my '69. New king pins, springs rearched, leaf added, spring bushings (all of this I took the axle and springs to a local shop to do), new u bolts, drag link, tie rod ends, new shocks, sway bar bushings. The one thing that was a bit of a challenge is the frame shackle bushings. Found another post where someone used urethane bushings for a Toyota. They have to be turned down a bit. I dont' have a lathe so had a shaft, chucked them in the drill press and dressed them down with a file. Measure, fit, measure, fit, can take a while but in the end works great. I think they come 10-12 to a pack so if you goof up on one, there are plenty more. All of this makes a big difference in the ride and handling.
