Steel Brake Line Help
Well, I was in the process of taking the master cylinder off of the brake booster, and managed to snap 2 of the 3 brake lines. Is there any way to fix this, or am I going to need to get entirely new steel hoses? They both broke right at the seating bolt that connect to the master cylinder. Any help here is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Steel Brake Line Help
You could try to re-flare them but I think your
best bet would be to buy new lines and install
them.

Where would I get lines? Would I just buy some at the local auto parts store, cut it to length, bend it, and flare it?

my local napa has them, in all lengths and sizes...redid a part on the 63, and got the pieces at NAPA...or you could buy just the line, and a tool to bend it (a piece of 4" or LARGER OD pipe works just as well as the $15 tool they sell, just avoid kinking the line

when I cross that bridge, I will be redoing the steel lines in the 63 entirely....just not yet

Re: Steel Brake Line Help
Be sure to DOUBLE FLARE the lines if you cut the ends.
If you're not sure what that is get the right tool from a parts house and ask questions on how to use it.

Is this for pre-flared lines? I'm thinking about doing the brake lines in my truck eventually and I'm thinking pre-flared would be the easiest although I wasn't sure if I could get the correct lengths.

The raw tube is cheap, most of what they sell is the dark-colored stuff that's designed to be bent by hand. Then you just need a flaring tool.
Inline tube makes pre-bent tubes for our trucks, not very expensive also.
