Rear axle lowering

Post by ledman70 »

Have any of you guys ever moved the spring perches up on the frame to lower the rear axle instead of removing springs? It looks to me like the rear perch could be moved up 2 inches and the front perch maybe 1 1/4 inches. I don't know how that would compare with removing a spring.

I was looking at mine and it seem to me you could get a rear mount, invert it mounting it at the front, eliminate the shackles on it and bolt the front of the spring directly to it and be able to lower the truck 3".

JRR, Maybe I'm not fallowing you but if you remove the shackles the leaf springs wont be able to bow up and down.
