4 speed shifter install mistake

Post by Big_G »

Oops! I was replacing the clutch on my 63 crewcab 318 with a 4 speed, and after I put the shifter back in, I can feel that the gears are not where they should be. Does anyone know how to realign the gears so that the gearshifter will be in the right spot for where the gears are? Or how to fix my mistake? Suggestions on the easiest cure? Thanks! Something move when you took it out or put it in?
if you can find were all the gears are not engaged
you should be able to pull it and re-install it right.

':banghead' Someone traded my toolbox for a tinkertool set. I had it in gear. Couldn't get it back in and working. ':banghead' Until I pushed in the clutch! ':idea' Then it worked like a Dodge charm. Thanks Jeffc for the memory jog! Big_G feeling like little_g.
