Transmission Identification
How do you identify your transmission type?
1967 D100, 3 on the tree, with a 318 and 3:55 rear end.
#s on the transmission say
C95323
3 AD
and on the other side...
C-96708 J 1
or maybe C-98708?
How do you refer to this thing, beyond "it's a 3-speed"?

Re: Transmission Identification
Look on the vin plate. The only thing I know about them is they aren't very heavy and didn't bring jack at the scrap yard.

Re: Transmission Identification
I don't know which numbers on the data plate refer to the transmission. What would it say?PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 1:36 pmLook on the vin plate. The only thing I know about them is they aren't very heavy and didn't bring jack at the scrap yard.

Re: Transmission Identification
I took some pictures. Hopefully this will help identify this thing. Since it has 10 splines on the input shaft and two holes in the tail for mounting a cross member I'm told it is probably not the transmission that shipped with the truck.67D100Pickup wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 12:53 pmHow do you identify your transmission type?

Here is a picture of the main casing:
I think the numbers are C95323
3 AD
And on the tail: C-96708 J 1
or maybe C-98708?
And here is the input shaft and collar, 10 splines: C-94532 Y
Can anyone tell me what this transmission came out of? I need to know so I can get the correct cluth.

Re: Transmission Identification
If the end goal is to source the correct clutch disc/pressure plate/throw-out bearing & input shaft bushing:

Re: Transmission Identification
Yes, that is the goal but when I order parts for a 1967 D100/318 w 3 speed, two wheel drive I get a 23 tooth spline and who knows if the rest of the parts fit. I'm guessing not.
The transmission was swapped from something else so I need to find out what shipped with this transmission. Only then can I order parts, yes?

Re: Transmission Identification
The guys at HR Clutch are good at getting you the correct clutch disc. They are not autozone, pepboys, napa or oreillys. If you tell them yours is 10 spline, they will sell you a 10 spline. They are old school. They got my W600 clutch disc correct the first time. Nobody else knows what a W600 is.
I will study your pics & compare to what are shown in some of my manuals. I'll admit, I'm not up on 3 speeds.

That's because their books are wrong. 67 will be 10 spline, stock, guaranteed!67D100Pickup wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 11:30 amYes, that is the goal but when I order parts for a 1967 D100/318 w 3 speed, two wheel drive I get a 23 tooth spline and who knows if the rest of the parts fit.
