My guess is it is from the mid 1950's.

That is my guess too, this bellhousing has 5 medium size holes covered in heavy screen , very unusual. Thanks, Guy

Back in the 50's, Dodge, Chrysler, DeSoto & Plymouth had their own separate engines, but I think they shared transmissions.
I have seen those screened over holes.
