Re: Motor identification
Is it a V-8?
If so it is most likely a A318 Poly

Re: Motor identification
Yes the distributor is toward the back, I do not know what scalloped means. I will post a picture if it will let me. I think they are help on by multiple bolts though..Hobcobble wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 6:50 pmIs the distributor toward the back of the engine? No there is a plate with grooves cut out for them to sit in, on top of the valve covers.pismopowerwagon wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 9:06 amSpark plug wires going through the middle of the huge valve cover?![]()

By the way, thank you

If the lower sides of the valve cover are jagged and not straight and are heldStrongbuilt wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:41 am

on with two bolts on the tops of the valve covers, the engine
is likely an A318 Poly. If there are 6 bolts holding the valve covers on, it could
be an LA318.

Re: Motor identification
This is an A series (Poly) 318 looks like. Notice valve covers and exhaust manifolds.
My truck is younger than me.

It looks identical to the 318 poly above! Thank you so much! 2 bolts holding the valve covers!
