problem.
After driving my new 360 for a few months, I start to notce an oil leak coming from the fly wheel inspection cover. I also start to notice clutch chatter when letting out the clutch. Pulling the inspection cover of fly wheel and its coated with oil. It looked as if it were coming from the oil galley plugs on rear of block so I dropped the tranny. Nope, what I thought was oil was prermatex sealer that ooozed down the block, not oil. The leak is either from ther rear main or rear oil pan, hard to tell. I just oredered some engine dye and will fire it up with dye in oil to see exactly where the leak is coming from.
If it is from the rear main, are these hard to replace? Any sorces of anti leak rear main seals that you have used and would recomend? Remember, this is a 360 not 318. Rear main seal is different. 318 used rope, 360 uses 2 piece.
Thanks

Re: leaky rear main?
It was a pretty straight forward fix on my 68 318
Pull the pan & rear cap and it should slide out and in.
