The dodge runs high idle in park and drops to near death in D.Have to feather the throttle to bring it up to speed smooth. It chokes when i HIT it.Need your knowledge on adjustment. Two jet screws in front..and an idle screw.

For me, Idle dropping that much when put in gear has always been ignition timing.

What about a vacuum leak? John, Tyler, TX '67 D200 CamperSpecial

Most likely a vacuum leak, then idle screw adjustment, then timing.

Spray a little carb cleaner around the base of the carb, throttle shaft area, intake manifold to head joints. Disconnect and plug off your vacuum brake booster if you have one, see if that changes things.

Buy a vacuum gauge, they're not expensive and the next tuning tool you need behind a timing light.

Half brain? That's me. I used to think I was a pretty good mechanic. Not so good I guess. 11 years ago I gave it up as a full time occupation and started driving an 18 wheeler. What I did learn was not to overlook the simple things, i.e., a good fuse in a dirty or loose socket. Most of all, go for the cheapest repair/diagnostics first. It's amazing what a vacuum gauge can say after learning how to read the needle. A dollar bill (piece of paper) over the oil filler hole can give you info on crankcase pressure (engine running of course). John '67 D200 CS-383/727/4.10AS
