anyone put a 518 trany in a sweptline?

Engine, transmission, rear-end, driveline, fuel system etc..

anyone put a 518 trany in a sweptline?

Thinking about putting an overdrive auto trany in my 70 D100. Anybody out there that did this? An problems??

We run a 46 series (518) overdrive in our '66 D-100. Hot Rod Magazine, September 2009 page 112 has THE diagram for doing this swap. Good luck. Check that front end - before you take that thing down the interstate at 80mph. A little slop at 45mph is nothing, at 75 or 80mph - whoa. Best mod I ever made.

The swap is pretty easy. Cut a chunk out of the cross member and shorten the drive shaft.
Then just decide how you want to shift the OD and engage the lock up, if applicable.
