i put my flipped rear axle back under the truck tonight....when i spin the tires should the yoke turn? because mine isnt but when i turn the yoke the tires turn....also...about to install my tranny to the back of my motor...the torque converter has transmission fluid in it...what is ful? i dont wanna put it on and then find out that it wasnt "full"

No shame in asking Judd. Your diff sounds ok, what is happening when you turn one tire the one on the other side is turning the opposite direction rather than turning the yoke. Have a buddy hold one tire still while you turn the other one. The yoke will turn then. The torque converter is fed fluid from the transmission when the engine is running, that is why automatics need the oil level checked with the motor running. good luck with your project, Erik

Having some fluid in the converter before installing is fine,
the trans pump will fill it once the pump is engaged.
FYI, the pump DOES NOT engage in park. So start the engine
and slide over to neutral. The service manuals will tell you to
check the fluid with the trans warm, running, on level ground
and in neutral.

This is also why if the truck hasn't been driven for a bit and
you jump in and try to take off it will kind of slowly ease into
motion. The converter can drain back into the trans and has
to be refilled. If you go straight to drive, it takes a couple
seconds for the converter to refill and transfer power.

I didn't want to start a new thread to get this question answered. And I did find it relevant because I am a young man who is new to these trucks, and it involves my rear end.

The number on the side reads "2070741." How do I determine what gearing I have? This thing is pretty massive (the diameter of the rear cover is a little over 10 inches.)

The last 3 digits tell you that you have a 8-3/4" rearend with a "741" case. On my 1967 door post is the vin plate and on that is listed the rear end ratio. Here's where you can read up on it.

Don't you mean 3.5? I guarantee it didn't come with a 2.5 gear.
