i got the lokar set up on mine as well. look at my 66 for sale post, click the link to the pics and youll see the lokar throttle and tranny kick down set up. works great, and real easy to adjust. john has the fancy pants braided steel housings, i just got plain black, but they work the same. but you will have to buy a lokar throttle pedal, or go rob one from a ram charger. our gas pedals wont work with them.

John send the picture of your truck and I'll post it :Thumbsup
I think the Lokar is an afternoon job, where if I can remember what I got mine from (parts listings of the swap are at the house in San Antonio) I can just hook it up and go, I think maybe a big block 67-69 Formula "S" Barracuda would work also. I can drive my truck but I can't STOMP IT which isn't fair because if I'm at a light and some idiot in a foriegn product pulls up beside me thinkin there all hot and what I wouldn't be able to teach them a lesson :Thumbsup

I took the pedal out of the 72 New Yorker that I got the 440 from in my 66. It has an arm that pulls backwards, same as the throttle on the carb, and a little slot at the end with a cupped indentation. Then I just cut down a bicycle brake cable. I used the factory installed piece at the end of the cable on the inside. The little "lump 'o lead" at the end fits nicely into the cup. Then up by the carb, I used an extra cable clamp from my VW Bug. Works great! :Thumbsup

First one lasted about 5 years of daily driving. Then for only a few bucks, I had a new one when it finally broke. If it were near by I'd post a picture. Hope I described it well enough. :thinking

Big Block

Post by MountainMoparRobin »

Thanks Mopar400 you're very close, I need the square end to plug in the firewall, so I found at ManciniRacing the sixpack throttle P#MPPP4529111 looks to be the exact length I need, which is almost identical to the ebay Challenger one, which when I tried looking it up I couldn't find. So they look to be the best :Thumbsup I CAN'T DO ANY ROMPIN, IF I CAN'T DO STOMPIN :salut
