Old gas

Have a couple fuel tanks with yrs old gas in them. Have added octane booster in the past to assuage some of the loss and burn it thru the motor. There are numerous choices at the parts store. Anybody have suggestions on what the differences are, how to compare, how much to use or what else works to deal with old gas?
Draining the tanks is not an option.

Just so you know someone has read this... no, I don't have any suggestions other than maybe Marvel Mystery Oil?? I remember when we had cars behind our body shop that sat there for years, we would drain out the gas and use it. Of course... that gas was probably the older stuff that had lead and such in it. I too would save that gas and maybe use it in lawn mowers and such.

I was taught in tech school (30 yrs ago) that stale gas has higher octane than it did when it was fresh. This was pre-ethanol of course.

I would recommend SeaFoam.

All the old gas Ive ever run, starting in the 70's, has knocked like hell! (stinks like it too!)
I'll get some of that Sea Foam. Beach is pretty close to here....

Syphon it out and use it for fire starter! Modern stale gas will gum up the carburetor.

Starbrite rules. But...its not a miracle worker. If your gas has been sitting for two years you should be OK. 5 years or more detach the fuel line at the fuel pump and let gravity just drain that tank. Replace the fuel filter and remove the gas cap. I drained mine(mine had been sitting for 20 years) into an old gas can and dropped it off at the local oil, old gas, e-waste drop off. Old gas is just going ruin everything down the line.
Fresh fuel will do wonders.

I'd drain it into a container, check for sediment, and transfer it to a gas can,
and then add a gallon or two of it to a daily use vehicle every week or so.
That would get rid of the old stuff by diluting it with twenty + gallons of new stuff.
Slow,...but effective.
